Rochester Americans

The Rochester Americans (Amerks) are a professional ice-hockey team in Rochester, NY, playing in the North Division of the Eastern Conference of the American Hockey league (AHL), and are the AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. The Amerks have won six regular season championships, 14 division championships, and six Calder Cup championships, since their inaugural season in 1956. Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in downtown Rochester serves as the team’s home arena. Terry and Kim Pegula began operating the Amerks in 2011.
